TANZANIA HUNTING AFRICA BIG FIVE SAFARI

The JML Safari company, set up in 1973 by Jean-Michel Latrive, has, since that date, welcomed more than 500 hunters of many different nationalities.

After operating in Burkina Faso, Uganda, the Cameroon and ten years in the Central African Republic Jean Michel came to Tanzania in 1991. He was joined by his son, Jérôme in that same year. Together they were about to build one of the most widely recognised and esteemed hunting safari companies, not only in France but in other countries too. No further proof is needed than a regular clientele that keeps coming back year after year.

The success of JML Safaris, which has become internationally recognised as one of the best hunting operations in Tanzania, is due not only to the well knit team that runs it but also to the down-to-the-last-detail organisation, the atmosphere within the camps, the ethical hunting policies which are applied and the skilful management of the wildlife resources available in each hunting zone in Tanzania. This is what ensures success for the hunter on a dangerous game hunting safari in Tanzania. JML Safaris in Tanzania enjoys such an excellent reputation today not just because of its outstanding success rate hunting in Tanzania particularly with the big cats hunting (African Lion hunt ing and Leopard hunting) and Cape Buffalo trophy hunting but also because of a zero defect approach to the whole African hunting safari.

We recognise that from the initial welcome, through charter aircraft to camps, food, camp vehicles, staff, trails and trophy preparation, each one has to be as near perfect as possible in addition to the quality of the hunt in Tanzania if the whole African hunting safari is to be an unqualified success. Indeed, to ensure that no detail can be overlooked or left to chance each of the hunting guides of JML Safaris spends two or three months in the territory before the season opens.

As far as the hunting itself is concerned it must be recognised that, whilst Tanzania contains some of the most plentiful game reserves in the whole of Africa, these reserves are not inexhaustible and trophies taken have, therefore, to be prudently managed and controlled.
