Air Travel
Your final destination will be Windhoek International Airport,
just outside the Capital of Namibia, where you will be met by
us and taken by car (a three hour drive) to Ozondjahe Hunting
Safaris, click here
to see Namibia
map. Since there are no direct flights
from any U.S. city to Namibia, there are basically two options
available; flying to Namibia via South Africa or a major European
city.

I like Travel Express in Montana, a travel agency that specializes in sending hunters to Africa and around the world. You may contact Lori at (800) 808.4868 or (406) 363.0883, email: travelexpress@montana.com and website: www.TravelExpressAgency.com.

Passport
All foreigners must be in possession of a passport that will remain
valid for at least six months after the intended date of departure
from Namibia.

Entry Visa
Citizens of the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Germany,
Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom planning to spend no more
than 90 days in Namibia, with a return ticket, will be issued
a visa at the airport upon arrival.
Persons possessing passports
from other countries may be required to obtain an entry visa prior
to departure from their country. This should be done well in advance
as it can take some time. You may check
visa requirements for foreigners traveling to Namibia http://www.mfa.gov.na/frames/visasframe.htm.
The visa application form can be downloaded from our web site
by clicking here
or sent to you upon request.
Should you have any questions as to whether you are required to
obtain a visa from your country of citizenship, please do not
hesitate to contact
us.
Baggage
Allowance
Airlines at your departure point may be more liberal concerning
baggage weight than airlines departing from Namibia; they are
strict about total weight for checked baggage not being more than
44lbs (20kg) otherwise you may be charged hefty excess baggage
fees. Gun weight should not be included in the calculation of
total weight.
Arms & Ammunition
International law requires that all firearms be transported in
purpose built hard cases that are locked and separate from any
ammunition. Temporary importation of hunting weapons into Namibia
is free of charge, firearms and ammunition must be declared upon
entry, where your permit will be issued.
To speed up this process,
we advise that prior to departure, you fill in the Gun Permit
Application form available from us and carry it with you. Click
here
to download this form or we can send it to you upon request.
Although it is not required by Namibian Customs, we recommend
while traveling, especially via South Africa, that you carry your
gun license with you. Some countries, including the United States,
do not issue gun licenses, in this event a copy of proof of ownership
should be carried instead. One hundred rounds of ammunition per firearm
is the maximum allowable in Namibia and only the ammunition for the specific caliber may be imported.
There is no limit to the number of firearms that may be imported into Namibia for trophy hunting purposes, howver we recommend clients to not bring more than two firearms, especially while travelling through South Africa as their laws differ largely from those in Namibia.
Handguns, automatic weapons, croosbows and solid
point cartridges are not permitted in Namibia.
Recommended
Hunting Safari Clothing & Equipment
Safari hunting wear should be comfortably fitting and made of
a sturdy fabric, we suggest cotton in khaki or a neutral color.
We recommend layering clothing since temperature changes throughout
the day can be significant, typically varying 35° F (20°
C) from day to night.
It is essential that hunting boots be comfortable
and well broken-in. Due to the thorn bush, we advise against wearing
shorts for hunting. For your convenience laundry is done on a
daily basis; packing should be done with this in mind. Click here to read the baggage weight allowances section. To adapt this list
according to the length of your trip and weather during the month
of your hunting safari in Namibia, please click here to refer to Climate
in Namibia section or for today's weather

In the unlikely event of an emergency, we have sophisticated medical
